The 9th Edition of The India Gems and Jewellery Show Begins Today April 4 to 7 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai
The 9th GJS Inaugurated at Jio World Centre: “Akshay Kala” Theme Sets the Tone for Festive Season

The All India Gem & Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) today officially inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Gems and Jewellery Show (GJS April 2026) at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) in Bandra Kurla Complex.
The premier B2B exhibition, running from April 4 to 7, was opened by Chief Guest Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Hon’ble Minister of Revenue for Maharashtra, alongside Guest of Honour Zaverilal V. Mandalia (Zaveri Kaka).
Key Highlights of the Opening Day
- Strategic Timing: The show is perfectly positioned between Gudi Padwa and Akshaya Tritiya to cater to the peak wedding and festive demand.
- Scale: Over 400 exhibitors across 700+ booths are showcasing more than 2 million trending designs in gold, diamonds, and precious gemstones.
- Theme: This edition’s theme, “Akshay Kala: The Eternal Art,” emphasizes the timeless nature of Indian craftsmanship integrated with modern innovation.
Industry Focus & Networking
The inauguration follows a high-impact day of industry brainstorming. Yesterday, the Manthan Conclave—organized in collaboration with the World Gold Council and IIM Ahmedabad—brought together policymakers to shape the “Vision Blueprint 2047” for the jewellery sector.
Throughout the next three days, attendees can expect:
- Mindspeak Seminars: Thought leadership sessions focusing on consumer trends and retail transformation.
- GJC Nite (April 5): A flagship networking event and gala evening for industry stakeholders.
- Hosted Buyers: Over 2,000 hosted buyers from across India are expected to attend, with a total visitor footfall projected at over 15,000.
“GJS 2026 is not just an exhibition—it is a proud celebration of India’s eternal artistry. It provides a powerful platform for jewellers of all sizes to explore new designs and strengthen trade ties ahead of the critical Akshaya Tritiya season.”
